AUVSI Member Companies on TIME 100 Best Inventions List
Last week, TIME released its annual list of 100 companies leading the way in transformative inventions. AUVSI congratulates Nuro and Einride, two companies that joined AUVSI this year, on receiving such a well-deserved recognition.
Their technologies are already making improving efficiency, access, and sustainability – and we have seen how the teams behind the tech are just as impressive as the vehicles themselves. As Advocacy members, we advocate on their behalf to key regulators and lawmakers to help deliver on our shared vision for the future of mobility and logistics.
Many Americans are already familiar with Nuro’s R2 due to their exciting partnership with Domino’s, and there is even more to love about the company. The Nuro team is passionate about expanding access to food to underserved communities and has partnered with organizations in the communities where they operate. Working with food banks in Houston, Nuro was able to provide a local charity with a predictable delivery option during the height of the pandemic when so much of the world was in flux.
Nuro’s fleet of personal delivery devices is also all-electric, placing them in common with the other AUVSI member company featured in TIME’s list: Swedish trucking company Einride.
Just two weeks ago, Einride announced their first foray into the United States via a partnership with GE, and reminded industry stakeholders of how unique the company is. With a striking silhouette, the pods are sesigned for teleoperations and are all-electric, as part of the company’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Congratulations to Nuro and Einride for receiving this high accolate. We look forward to supporting their priorities and those of other automated goods movement companies. Keep your eyes peeled for more innovation from these teams – the Nuro R2 and the Einride Pod will keep changing the way businesses operate and consumers receive goods.
