Logos Technologies Authorized for UAS Testing in New York
Arlington, Virginia-based Logos Technologies became the first company authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration to test its Tactical Expandable Maritime Platform unmanned aerial system at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, New York.
The Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance will oversee testing of the lightweight parafoil aircraft, abbreviated TEMP, which was designed in partnership with Atair Aerospace. TEMP is capable of autonomous flight and designed to precisely deliver cargo to inaccessible areas during emergencies among other functions.
Rep. Richard Hanna of New York’s 22nd congressional district says, “I look forward to continuing to work to facilitate the responsible development of innovative technologies, like those that Logos Technologies is known for, and demonstrating the great opportunities that the Mohawk Valley can provide to small businesses.”
“We’re grateful to Rep. Hanna and our partners at the NUAIR for their wholehearted support that sets a great precedent for the future of UAS technology in New York state,” says Dr. John Mario, president of Logos.
