France’s Delair-Tech says it has released seven new unmanned aircraft packages targeted at industries such as surveying, agriculture and surveillance.

The Toulouse-based company has also teamed with Switzerland’s Pix4D to include that company’s Pix4Dmapper software for post-processing data.

Most of the packages are based on Delair-Tech’s DT-18, an aircraft that weighs two kilograms (4.4 pounds), flies for two hours and has a range of 100 kilometers (62 miles). Those packages are available immediately. Packages using the larger DT-26 will be available later this year.

“UAVs are tools for collecting data. Currently, purchasing a UAV system can be a confusing process. With our new packages, we’ve aimed to simplify this as much as possible,” says Benjamin Benharrosh, the compay’s co-founder. “Our new packages include all components needed to begin flying quickly and the image processing software required to make use of that newly collected data.”

The packages also include training for two pilots, so “the only thing the user needs is a laptop,” Benharrosh says.

Delair-Tech has flown power transmission line surveys in Corsica and survey flights over open-pit mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, both of which used Pix4Dmapper software to produce mosaics and models of the data.
