VTOL JUMPs to New Heights
Arcturus UAV announced upgrades to its JUMP 15 fixed wing vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle to increase performance, endurance and efficiency.
A redesigned wing provides for longer flight times. The UAV outfitted with a sensor suite is able to fly for six hours.
The Honda four-stroke engine has been converted to fuel injection, which allows for better fuel efficiency and a higher flight ceiling.
As a VTOL aircraft, the system requires no special launcher or a runway to takeoff and land and can be set up on-site in less than 15 minutes, according to a company press release.
