MicaSense Inc. released the third generation of its RedEdge multispectral camera optimized for use in unmanned aircraft systems.
The 150-gram scientific-grade imaging tool provides support for precision agriculture with imagery across five discrete bands.
RedEdge is integrated into any system with a full-featured host interface, Wi-Fi connectivity for field camera management, cloud-based processing solutions, and postprocessing using mapping and geographic information system applications.
MicaSense is teaming with multiple drone technology companies to provide complete solutions using RedEdge.
“We’re excited to be working with MicaSense at all levels of our Aerial Information Platform, providing drone manufacturers and operators a powerful option for agricultural remote sensing applications,” says Airware CEO Jonathan Downey.
Aerial Technology International integrated RedEdge into its AgBot system.
“RedEdge is the perfect fit for drones and the ideal tool for providing solutions for precision agriculture.”
Similarly, Draganfly Innovations offers integration with RedEdge on its latest UAS, the Draganflyer Pro-Ag package.
“Over 15 years of manufacturing UAVs, we’re seen many new payloads come along, but the RedEdge really stands out,” says Founder and CEO of Draganfly Zenon Dragan. “It is lightweight, high-quality, easy to use and delivers amazing imagery.”
