Saab Seaeye a maritime defense and security corporation has added Hydro-Lek Ltd. to its growing company.
Hydro-Lek is a U.K. tool manufacturer and manipulator that specialize in production for underwater vehicles. This new bond will help strengthen Saab Seaeye’s portfolio as they continue to expand, according to a company press release.
“We see a clear synergy between the two companies as manipulators and tools are key components in the design and function of underwater vehicles.
Our ability to offer and support a complete ROV and tooling solution will bring significant benefits to the market,” says Jon Robertson, managing director, at Saab Seaeye, in a press release.
For more than 20 years, Hydro-Lek has been a supplier for the ROV, defense, and research industry. With its firm grip in these markets, Saab Seaeye will be able to expand into the ROV industry as well.
The new partnership will not have any effect on business during the remaining months of the 2013 year. Hydro-Lek will be a fully owned subsidiary of Saab Seaeye Ltd.
