Opening of three-day event to review robotics and unmanned systems for defense operations

ARLINGTON, Va. – Navy Secretary Ray Mabus and U.S. Rep. Mark Takai of Hawaii, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses at the opening of Unmanned Systems Defense, Oct. 27 at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. 

The remarks begin a three-day event, organized by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International, to review and support robotics and unmanned systems designed for military applications. The forum will bring together industry, government program managers, decision makers, and technology experts for information sharing and interaction. 

Admission is complimentary for active duty military in uniform and the media.

  • Secretary Mabus, keynote address at 9:45 a.m.

Air Day, Wed., Oct. 28

  • Lt. Gen. Robert P. Otto, deputy chief of staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, keynote address at 9:45 a.m.

Ground Day, Thurs., Oct. 29

  • Dr. Paul Rogers, director, U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center, keynote address at 9:45 a.m.
