The Federal Aviation Administration granted four more commercial UAS exemptions to Video Solutions LLC, 3D Aerial Solutions, Viking Unmanned Aerial Systems, Inc., and Singer’s Creations bringing the total number of exemptions granted to 42.

As of Feb. 27, Video Solutions LLC will be allowed to use a DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ for closed set filming for the motion picture and television industry.

3D Aerial Solutions, Viking and Singer’s Creations all received grants of exemption on March 3.

3D Aerial Solutions can now fly a senseFly eBee Mini Drone UAS for precision photogrammetry and crop scouting for precision agriculture. The operations support public interest by reducing chemical use and its impact on the environment, maximizing crop yield and improving safety over manned aerial solutions.

Viking will use its proprietary Ranger EX UAS to support agriculture as well including 3D mapping functions in sterile areas with permission from the landowner.

Singer’s Creations was also granted use of the Phantom 2 Vision+ to conduct aerial photography and videography for homeowners, realtors, home builders, home contractors and home inspectors for real estate marketing and inspections of home exteriors, according to the company’s application.

As of March 4, the FAA has received over 500 exemption requests.
