Lecia Geosystems and Headwall Photonics have announced a partnership to include Headwall’s advanced hyperspectral imaging sensors in Leica’s portfolio of mapping solutions and data products.




The agreement includes Headwall’s new Nano-Hyperspec sensor for lightweight, small unmanned aircraft systems, which acquires both spatial and spectral information.




Spectral mapping capabilities can record data based on features of a target area. Users can map forests by plant species, quarries by mineral composition or farmland by plant vitality, according to a company press release.
