Aeryon Labs Inc., introduced its HDZoom30 imaging payload that will deliver 30x optical zoom, 60x digital zoom, 1080p recorded video and 20 megapixel still image resolution to small unmanned aircraft systems.

The fully-integrated, ruggedized electro-optical camera payload offers 3-axis stabilization using brushless motors and can read a license plate or recognize a face from 1000 feet away, according to a company press release.

“As one of the first SUAS named in an FAA Section 333 exemption request, the Aeryon SkyRanger currently enables Aetos Group to deliver robust and reliable aerial inspection services to customers in the petrochemical industry,” says Aetos VP of Operations Nick Harwood. “We look forward to adding the Aeryon HDZoom30 to our portfolio, and offering our customers a safer, more effective way to capture high-resolution images to enhance their maintenance and reliability programs.”

Both the HDZoom30 and SkyRanger can operate from -4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit and share a secure data transmission network with real-time metadata.
