AN/DPX-7 Reduced Size Transponder to Make Flights Safer on the MQ-4C Triton

BAE Systems has created a Reduced Size Transponder (RST) named the AN/DPX-7 to use on Northrop Grumman’s MQ-4C Triton in order to improve flight safety. The RST uses manned and unmanned systems that employ air traffic control to improve situational awareness for navigation.
The MQ-4C Triton will monitor oceans and costal regions, fly 24 hour surveillance missions, and cover 2,000 nautical miles.
Sal Costa, Product line director at BAE Systems in Greenlawn N.Y. said, “BAE Systems’ reduced size transponder advances the safety of the Triton – and other aircraft –because it helps sense and avoid other planes, enabling successful navigation through congested airspace.”
