ASV Delivers Boats to South Korea

Portsmouth, U.K.-company Autonomous Surface Vehicles Ltd. announced it has delivered its C-Target 9 boats to South Korea.
The delivery is part of a two-phase contract that will supply the country’s Agency of Defense and Development with of ASV’s 9-meter target drone boats. The delivery is in collaboration with South Korean company GigaRF.
The first phase of the contract was completed 17 Oct., when ASV completed acceptance tests on two of the boats. Construction of the second pair of marine target drones will be completed in early 2014, according to an ASV press release.
ASV’s C-Target family ranges from three to 13 meters in size and is designed to aid in fast inshore attack craft threat training. The 60-knot-speed boats can be operated in both manned and unmanned modes.
