A Chicago law firm announced that it has launched a legal practice group to help unmanned aircraft commercial business users and manufacturers understand and stay within the Federal Aviation Administration’s regulations.
Antonelli Law, headed by Jeffrey Antonelli in partnership with Kate Fetcher and Mark Del Bianco, is directing the focus of the Drone Law Practice group on the laws surrounding unmanned aircraft system and associated technologies.
“Because of the technical and regulatory challenges for drone use in the national airspace, we expect the FAA to introduce stringent licensing requirements that are similar to commercial aviation laws for large drones,” Antonelli says. “The combination of Ms. Fletcher's deep knowledge in aviation, Mr. Del Bianco's substantial administrative law experience, and Antonelli Law’s expertise in technology law results in a rare and innovative partnership to serve this niche area of the law.”
The Drone Law Practice Group will cover the UAS legal aspects including, compliance with FAA regulations, intellectual property protection and litigation, enforcement of supplier contracts, employment law, zoning issues, and special use permits.
