A combined team from the University of Girona, Cobham and ISEP/INESC TEC won the 2015 euRathlon Grand Challenge, a robotics competition held in Piombino, Italy.



Sixteen teams and 40 robots took part in the competition, which used real-world search-and-rescue challenges in the wake of a mock nuclear disaster. Some teams, including the winners, also combined on site to help each other out.



The team was awarded €10,000 that can be invested in further technological development.



The event also featured demonstrations of two robots that recently competed in DARPA’s Robotics Challenge in California, including IIT’s Walkman and KAIST’s DRC-HUBO, which won that competition.
