Elbit Introduces New, Improved Skylark I-LEX

Elbit Systems has introduced its Skylark I-LEX, a new version of the company’s Skylark I-LE mini unmanned aircraft, at the Paris Air Show.
The I-LEX is already operational as the standard battalion-level UAS of the Israel Defense Forces and has racked up thousands of operational sorties. The company has already received several international contacts for the new system, although it did not disclose them.
The I-LEX improves on the earlier version with better air vehicle performance, enhanced airworthiness, a new day/night dual sensor, an encrypted communication system and the possibility of simultaneously operating two air vehicles, up to a range of 40 kilometers.
