SenseFly announced its eXom rotary drone used for high-definition video, ultra high-resolution stills and thermal imaging this week.
The UAS has an autopilot-controlled TripleView camera and five vision and ultrasonic sensors so users always know where and how far obstacles may be from the eXom. The system also has automated proximity warnings and carbon fiber protection for the rotors.
Operators can choose to tap an object of interest on a video feed or define an area to map and eXom’s autopilot will generate a flight plan and focus the camera on the desired target. The onboard camera has a 270-degree field of view that enables the system to inspect objects directly above it.
“We designed eXom to be unlike any other rotary drone — a fully integrated imaging platform rather than just a remote controlled aircraft with cameras attached,” says senseFly CEO and cofounder Jean-Christophe Zufferey. “This allows users to focus on their work, not on flying.”
