TORC Robotics announced today the use of an unmanned vehicle kit in its Ground Unmanned Support Surrogate autonomous ground vehicle, which was used in an 11-day Marine Corp Warfighting Lab limited technical assessment at Ft. Hunter Liggett, Calif.

This specific limited technical assessment is used to understand the integration of the unmanned Tactical Network Sensor Suite on the concept of operations and TTPs (tactics, techniques and procedures).

The increased capabilities of GUSS allow it to “provide autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance and behaviors that conform to mission TTPs.” These changes provide efficient small tactical formation in missions. Applications are globally present in defense, mining, agriculture and the automotive market.

CEO Michael Fleming notes, “From our success in the DARPA Urban Challenge six years ago, we have commercialized autonomy into safe, reliable and cost-effective unmanned kits.” TORC is also providing GUSS for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army.
