JARUS Seeks Input on RPAS Safety Analysis

By Danielle Lucey

The Joint Authorities for Rulemaking of Unmanned Systems announced this week that they have released a document meant to provide a system safety assessment in support of remotely piloted aircraft systems type certification and are seeking external input.

The document, ARM RPAS.1309, is three years of work in the making and includes a definition of system availability and integrity levels. It was presented at a JARUS workshop. An accompanying scoping paper explains the rationale behind the document.
