Michigan Police Select Aeryon SkyRanger
The Michigan State Police have decided to standardize their unmanned aircraft systems program throughout all 83 counties statewide with the Aeryon SkyRanger small unmanned aerial system.
The full-service police agency operates UAS under a Federal Aviation Administration certificate of authorization to train officers for public safety scenarios, including natural disaster response, search and rescue, traffic accident reconstruction, and scene photography, according to a company press release.
"After the success of the UAS training scenarios, we look forward to receiving the operational COA for the entire state," says First Lt. Chris Bush, commander field support and aviation section of the Michigan State Police special operations division. "Our emergency response and investigation teams are anticipating the benefits of using the Aeryon SkyRanger in the field."
