RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems will become the first major lidar manufacturer to release its own unmanned aerial system this week, according to a company press release.



The UAV, called RiCOPTER, is equipped with RIEGL’s VUX-1 lidar for a fully integrated survey solution.



The company is also unveiling a new airborne lidar system, the VQ-880-G, and a terrestrial laser scanner, the VZ-2000, with increased range and measurement speed.



Along with the new hardware, RIEGL is releasing a major software update with 64-bit architecture.
