QinetiQ North America introduced its new TALON V man-transportable, tactical robot for military and law enforcement.

The robot is the first in its class to successfully complete the U.S. Army’s Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center interoperability profile testing.

It features 16 input/output ports, improved top speed, high-torque drive motors, a heavy lift, a multi-degree manipulator for objects up to 65 pounds and a user-defined graphical interface.

“TALON V is another example of the innovation that can happen when industry listens to and responds to the needs of our country’s military,” says QinetiQ North America President Dr. Andrew Rogers.

According to the company, previous TALON models have been used in an estimated 300,000 military operations overseas to counter improvised explosive devices.
