Next week, RT LTA Systems Ltd., maker of the Skystar family of aerostats for use in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and communications, will introduce the Skystar 400. 



This new model has four fiber optic cables for high-quality broadband data transmission and high signal rates. The tethered aerostat can carry up to 143 pounds and fly at an altitude of 1,500 feet, withstanding extreme weather. 



“The Skystar 400 defines a new class of products in the aerostat systems market,” says RT LTA CEO Maj. Rami Shmueli. “Similar to medium-size tactical system[s], the 400 is portable and easy to use. However, its performance is comparable to that of the large strategic aerostat systems that exist in the market today.”
