Saab Seaeye released its Leopard work-class remotely operated vehicle, which features 11 thrusters and an intelligent control system called iCon.

The iCon system is networked and has a refined version of a main electronics pod for intelligent power distribution, allowing the pilot better handling, according to a company press release. Australia’s Dive Works Subsea Solutions is the first company to order one of the new systems.

"We've found that even though we are a commercial diving and ROV services company, the industry is heading more and more towards using ROVs rather than divers,” says Andrew Ford, managing director at Dive Works. “Over the past few years, more than half of our work has been for Falcon ROV services. … Our clients want a fast and reliable service, and now with the Leopard ROV we can deliver this."
