I was recently made aware of the STEAM initiative. This is an augmentation of the STEM initiative. STEM is the Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math curricula focused upon getting the under represented groups (females, non-asian, non-indian) into the sciences and more technical fields of study. STEAM is STEM with the 'A' representing the Arts. Pretty clever.
As a STEM of a STEM set of parents I can appreciate the need to fulfill the artist side of the individual. Please share your STEAM experience and advice to grow the STEAM population as the United States is falling behind in STEM.
