As April ends, several state legislatures have adjourned for the remainder of the session. Due to elections, sessions in even-numbered years are often shorter than those in odd-numbered ones. Eight states adjourned this month, bringing the total to nineteen states already adjourned for their 2024 regular sessions.
What We’re Seeing
With the legislative sessions winding down, we saw fewer new bills introduced and began to see more bills enacted into law. This includes forward leaning enabling legislation for both air and ground vehicles:

30 Mile True BVLOS Flight – Scalable Operation for all Organizations with Sentaero 5
November 17th - Censys Technologies operated a 30 mile, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operation without visual observers flying Sentaero 5 over a cellular network in South Florida adjacent to Lake Okeechobee leveraging a performance-based (non-geo constrained) shielded operations waiver.
The mission was a proof of concept (POC) simulaNng data collecNon for algae blooms of a key piece of South Florida’s ecosystem. This use case promotes the value of BLVOS for long linear data collecNon and inspecNons.
