Thales signed a memorandum of understanding with Qatar’s armed forces to build an optionally piloted aircraft.
“This is an exciting prospect that Thales is looking forward to developing with the Qatar armed forces. Our experience in mission systems and unmanned air vehicles will provide Qatar with a world leading solution, ” said Victor Chavez, CEO of Thales UK.
The optionally piloted aircraft will be equipped with intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance systems and Thales will also conduct training. The vehicle will also be integrated with the missions system that allows it to be optionally piloted.
