Unmanned Systems AG Merges into Swiss UAV
By Holly Gonzalez
July 8 marked the merger of Swiss-based Unmanned Systems AG, parent company of the Unmanned Systems Group, and Swiss UAV. UMS will acquire a majority of SUAV. This change allows Unmanned Systems AG’s overseas operating focus and Swiss UAV’s Europe focus to come together for a greater impact for UAV development, according to a joint press release.
“We are most certain that the new combined company will be recognized as an important force in the UAV world with its USP [unique selling proposition] to offer both fixed-wing and rotary systems in a non-ITAR environment,” Peter Jeney, UMS chairman said. “The provision of appropriate avionics architecture is fundamental to the development of operationally relevant products that the current and future markets demand. The merger of SUAV and UMS group will completely and robustly close the gap on avionic expertise within our company.”
