Undercover robot boats designed as crocodiles by Carnegie Mellon researchers are measuring the amount of hippopotamus dung in Kenya’s Mara river and checking the quality of the water. The hippopotamous droppings are settling to the bottom of the river which researchers believe is responsible for bacteria forming that is taking away oxygen from fish. (Carnegie Mellon News)
